Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe, a British-Nigerian mixed race child, was born to an ethnically diverse family from South London. Madekwe is English, and her father was Nigerian. Her family was raised on a south London council estate, and went to The Brit School at age 14. She went to The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London in which she earned a BA in acting. As a student at the academy and performing in numerous stage productions, such as King Henry V as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her acting career through the movie Storm Damage. In the years since, Madekwe has appeared in Teachers and Doctors. Her first role in a film was in Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. The film's success has led her to be cast in Elisha as a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot, then appear in six episodes Trexx & Flipside as Ollie. In 2008, Madekwe landed Bambi as the main character in the ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe also starred as the main character on How to lose friends & betray people that was aired by Sony Pictures Entertainment in 2008. Her credits in the theatre include Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) and Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe made her US debut in the series The Beautiful Life in 2009. The series aired only two episodes on The CW, and was eventually cancelled. Ashley Davenport was her role in ABC's drama Revenge. Madekwe was a regular on the drama series on ABC Revenge in two episodes. It was revealed in May 2013 that she was set to be leaving the series following an appearance in the initial episode of season three. From 2014 to 2016, she starred in Salem as Tituba. Madekwe got married to her long-time love, Iddo. Both of them have been in Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They have also appeared as partners in Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario and was a part of a large family. Her four older brothers were also present: twins Todd & Bram, Brett & Rob. Ashley's sports brothers were avid baseball players during the summer months and hockey in the winter. Ashley was not a walker, but she danced. At age two and half she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley discovered her love for dance when she was just a few years old. Ashley continued to perform competitively throughout high school with top divisions like ballet, tap, Jazz and Pointe. She also competed in Acrobatics, Acrobatics Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop and many more. She also won best soloist awards at all major dance contests, like the International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more.
